Love Lost: Final Week - Strategy Guide
Overview
The game takes place in the final week of your final high school year, and there is so much you haven't achieved in yet! Time is running out!
The MC (main character) is a typical Senior at a local high school in a fairly well-off neighborhood in an average town. You are definitely not the coolest kid in town, but you're are doing quite OK in school and you spend most of your spare time practicing swimming or fiddling about with your computer. At the moment, you don't have a girlfriend or any particularly close friends at all. Come to think of it, you have never had a girlfriend! You have never even been kissed! And this is the last week of school, you better hurry!
But there is this one girl, that hold a special place in your heart: Emily Anderson, your childhood sweetheart, and, to you, the most beautiful girl in the world. Unfortunately, she is dating the alpha-male of your school Derek, who just happens to be the school's swimming star as well. Double bad luck!
Can you lure Emily away from Derek?
Objective
The objective of this game is to find a way to rekindle your friendship with your childhood sweetheart Emily, and if you play your cards right, it will lead to something more. Your best chance to talk to and charm Emily is at Jennifer Truman's Pool Party, which will take place in six days, on Saturday evening. But in order to do that you have to get invited to the party first. And even if you do get invited, you must pass your final English exam for your parents to allow you to go.
Emily's current boyfriend, Derek, is the biggest douche in school and, to add insult to injury: your swimming team rival. A good way to get Emily to notice you is to beat Derek in the big Regionals Swim Race coming up on Thursday. But then again, to do that you have to go to swimming practice.
Sounds confusing? Don't worry, the game will help you with what to do, and when to do it!
Game Mechanics
Studying
To pass the exam (to allow you to go to the party, should you get invited), the game has a puzzle-based study system where attending classes in school will tell which books to read in order to pass the exam. Once you learned which books to read, you will have to find them and subsequently read them. Finding them is puzzle part, along with figuring out when and where to read them.
To make it a little more difficult, you can find the books at any time in the game, but you can't pick them up unless you have attended the class where you have learnt about the corresponding book. So, no cheating! And remember, there are books scattered all over the game, more books than you will need to read.
Swimming Practice
To practice, you simply have to show up to training every day with the right equipment. The game will automatically take you there if you attend your classes.
Party Invitation
In order to go to the party on Saturday, you will need to be invited. The party is hosted by Jennifer Truman, so maybe you should get to know her a little better too? You can talk to most characters in the game by typing e.g. ASK JENNIFER ABOUT THE PARTY, if you are in the same room as Jennifer, and want to ask her about the party. And even though you have spoken to a character about a certain topic, their mood towards you, and thus their inclination to discuss the matter at hand, will change throughout the game, so don't give up.
Statistics
If you ever wonder about your current status with the ladies, if you want to know which classes you have attended or which books you have read, you can always type STATISTICS or simply STATS. Which reminds me: there are other things that you can shorten as well, e.g. names. But you will have to work that out for yourself.
Day-by-day
Day 1
Not much happens early on day 1. You should get dressed and go to school. You will need your bag to do so. Can’t find it? Check the closet.
Get acquainted with the characters you meet: you can look at them (including various body parts), talk to them (given that you have the balls to!) and maybe check out their Profilebook page on the PC in your room.
In class you will learn about how to study for the exam and collect the books you need. Can’t find the books? Check the library… If nothing else, talk to Mrs. Armstrong, the librarian, she will tell you whether or not a book can be found there or if all the copies are lent out.
After class you will head to swimming practice. You will need your swimming trunks for that. In fact, you will need them every day (so don’t forget them at home!). On the first day, they are in your locker. Make sure to pick them up in the morning before class or at lunch. Forgot to get your trunks? There is a spare pair of trunks somewhere in the changing room. I wonder where someone may keep forgotten old trunks? It could be a good idea to search for them there.
After practice something will draw your attention. A little peeking through the door won’t hurt, right? Just don’t forget to clean both the guy’s and the girl’s changing room every day, including today, or else bad things will happen (and not in a good way).
When you’re done with your shit duty, you should head home. So, one of the books wasn’t in the library? Maybe there is a copy at your house somewhere? Where do you keep books in a house?
Don’t forget to read the books you pick up too! Just because you have them in your bag doesn’t mean they will read themselves! Maybe try reading the first two books before going to bed?
When you feel done, just head to your room and sleep.
Day 2
Well… The days seem to drone on on this game. And yes, I know it’s an AIF, but there will be plenty of sex later on. Just consider the plot: you’re a loser who needs to earn his way into the panties of any girl he wants to sleep with, so it’s gonna take some time. But be patient… Just don’t forget your bag or your trunks when heading to school.
Lunch time might be a good time to ask Emily for a study date (Ask Emily about studying or Ask Emily about date, should do the trick). In fact, here’s the first major to what ending you can reach. Don’t forget to ask her!
After swimming practice don’t forget to clean both changing rooms either. What’s up with those girls hanging around after hours? Where did they go? And how did they get in there? Either from the outside or from the girl’s showers. Could be worth checking both.
Head off to Emily’s house for your study date when you leave school, provided that you have asked her about it of course!
This is a good time to mention that you can only do a limited amount of things each evening (or after school to be precise) that are of an important nature. Two things to be exact. So, you can read two books in your room or read one book and have a study date, for example.
After a more interesting Tuesday, you feel tired and should head to sleep.

Day 3
After the first class you feel like talking to Emily about another study date. Things are going well! You should definitely do that! And what do you know? Shit is really hitting the fan now… You’ll need to find Jennifer immediately after practice! Conveniently, she will be hanging around the school for a while. Asking her about the race is a very good idea! She will want something in return though…
Should you feel compelled to check out the girl’s shower after you have cleaned both changing rooms, a narrow metal object, often used for eating and a key used in pool maintenance could prove useful. Man, that plinth looks large and bulky!

And here’s another gentle reminder: don’t forget to read the books! If you don’t have time in the evening, there’s always before school!

Day 4
So… This is the big day. The swim race. Hope you have done everything to prepare. I think Jennifer can help you with the last details. But you will have to talk to her and she is always late in the morning. You will just have to talk to her at lunch.

What’s that?! Derek and his goons have done a whole bunch of shit to sabotage your race!? I guess you will have to skip the afternoon class to fix all of this.

OK… so… your trunks. Where did you last see them? When Reggie and Matt harassed you this morning, right? I bet they stole them! Where did they go after that? They couldn’t have gone very far, especially with such an incriminating piece of evidence. They must have dumped them nearby.
And the starting block… Which one was it now? You’ll need to check them all, maybe one of them is loose and that must mean it’s your lane! And how do you tighten a starting block? I guess you would need a tool. Now where does the janitor keep those? Probably close to the swimming pool.
And the final thing was the race timer. It too must be controlled from somewhere near the swimming pool. Maybe there is a switchboard where they set the different cables for each lane? Maybe you can see which lane is yours from the wiring? All the lanes should look the same, right? Better move the cables...
You won the race! Congratulations! Now what did Jennifer ask you to do for her after school. Oh, yeah! Pick up Michelle and Kelly from the stables. Better not forget. And you have a study date with Emily. AND you have books to read. Don’t forget to find them as well. How will you manage?
Well, a long day is finally over. Better go to sleep.
Day 5
Another hot, wet dream… Are you starting to have a thing for your sister? No, that can’t be right! Did she leave the bathroom door open? One little peek can’t hurt…
OK, so today is the test. Have you read all your books? Maybe you can cram one more in this morning…
Everybody seems to be all wound up about the test today so nobody’s off to any mischief. I guess it’s just: exam and grading. Hope you did well.
And why have practice after Regionals? Well Coach Czolgosz is a hard no-nonsense man. Better do as he says. Anyway, you have to clean, right? But what’s that? A girl is running from the hallway into the pool area. And why is the door to the girl’s changing room left a jar? Better check it out? Could it have been Emily? Where did she go? This is your chance to support her and be there when she needs you!
OK, so that didn’t go quite as planned. But at least she agreed to talk to you tomorrow. Best not forget that. And what did Jennifer tell you to do today. Come by her house? Why? What is she up to? Better go to her house and check it out!
Wow! What a night! I guess you are not a virgin anymore. At least that is something. Is Michelle having a sleepover? They seem very excited. Maybe a little eavesdropping can’t hurt?

Day 6
